Lauren + Mack
What an unforgettable experience we had with our recent wedding in Vail, Colorado. With all of the circumstances surrounding Covid-19, our dream wedding which was meticulously planned close to a year in advance was ever-evolving up until the wedding date August 8, 2020. To say this was a bit stressful is an understatement. Not only did we have to significantly pare down our original guest list, we had multiple venue changes due to capacity restrictions and then had to modify start and ending times of our evening events due to the state mandated restriction of alcohol service after 10PM. Fortunately, we had rock-star vendors who were not only flexible, but super creative helping us come up with alternative plans to ensure we would be able to celebrate our wedding weekend despite all the hurdles out of our control.
The rehearsal dinner was literally up in the air two weeks prior to our wedding as our original venue backed out due to so many restrictions. We had 100 guests coming in from all over the country and we had no place to host our Friday night rehearsal. Fortunately our amazing caterer Allana at FOODsmith and wedding planner, Jennifer Pletcher of Gemini Events, suggested alternative venues and shifted into high gear making it possible to have our special evening! The Eagle Vail Pavilion was a perfect solution – it offered a casual but elegant setting with 360 degrees of breathtaking views. The Turtle Bus provided transportation from Vail Chapel so the 15 minute ride was a festive experience in itself! Guests mingled on the open deck and enjoyed a sunset cocktail reception with favorite Napa Valley wines selected by the groom’s family. FOODsmith prepared a phenomenal menu with a choice of entrée, salmon or elk. The best part is we had the entire venue to ourselves so it felt private and intimate and we got to enjoy the evening on our own schedule. With all the unforeseen circumstances, the night turned out more special than we could have ever planned. Mack and I are now happily married and are forever grateful to our families and all the dedicated people in the Vail Valley who helped make it happen during such a crazy year!
