Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Pletcher.
Jennifer, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Gemini Event planning began 15 years ago when Meg Sheehan (pictured with me) founded this company to fill the niche of creative, luxurious, high-end event planning within the Vail Valley, drawing on her years of experience in many different venues, hotels and event platforms. Our company was honored to coordinate events for many Vail locals, actors, CEO’s and numerous incredible couples. Our focus stands out from others in that we pair luxury with FUN- our philosophy is the planning of an event should be as enjoyable as the end product. A few years ago we transferred ownership and my goal was to continue the unmatched product we are known for providing, but provide more than a service. My intention is to provide an experience, one where couples feel listened to, cared for and feel that their time with our company was as unique as they are. My background in Biology and International Event Planning was rooted in teamwork and that is the pillar I brought to Gemini Event Planning. While a wedding is made of many vendors who work alone, we are all a team and need to work to together to execute any day perfectly. This teamwork is in the best interest of our clients and also has led to increased relationship development between us and venues/vendors- because everyone wants to go to work with people that make their day relaxing, enjoyable and memorable. A team of professionals who feel supported and are passionate about their job translates into an exceptional day for our clients, and that is the secret to our growth, success and many wonderful friendships we have fostered without past clients over the years.
Has it been a smooth road?
As Colorado has grown, the number of event firms has exponentially grown. How do you stand out from the crowd? We don’t advertise, pay for SEO, runs print adds, etc. By truly being passionate not just about our craft but about the PEOPLE we work for and with, our company has seen great success and growth, even in times when others maybe not enjoying the same busy schedule.
And the real test to every wedding planner- always have a plan B, C and D for weather in Colorado. If you have that, all else comes naturally.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
What we are known for is Unique in Style, luxury weddings without being pretentious. We are adventurous and the more creative and challenging, the better. Being a born and raised Vail local, that love for adventure and adrenaline is inherent. We do many “first” weddings. Whether it be an outdoor winter wedding at a venue that has never taken on that challenge or a ceremony at 12,000 feet that is completely novel, I love getting to know a couple, what makes them excited about their day, create a memorable moment for them to start their life together and then problem solving and organizing all logistics to make that vision a reality. All great stories start with ” this may be a crazy idea, but……”
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Colorado in general is the ultimate location for the fun, adventurous couple. People often ask me to do weddings in California, Hawaii, etc. and I have lived in Florida, Hawaii, Northern California, Southern California, and the British West Indies as a Marine Biologist. And from experience, I can tell you there is nothing like the outstanding type of people that Colorado attracts and fosters. We focus here only so we can be experts at what we do.
